A DAY nursery in Dereham has improved its communication with the parents of the children in its care following a complaint to Ofsted.

The government's educational standards regulator received the complaint in October that parents of a child at the East Dereham Day Nursery in Theatre Street were not being fully informed about their child's routine.

An inspector carried out an unannounced visit and subsequently issued the nursery with a notice to improve.

It states that the nursery has been asked to “maintain a regular two-way flow of information with parents providing information about their child's daily routine”.

Nina Hopson, nursery proprietor, said in a statement: “We have already taken action to meet this concern.

“We take great pride in the quality and standards of the nursery education provided at the East Dereham Day Nursery & Sure Start Children's Centre and always welcome the comments and advice we receive from Ofsted. This is one of the reasons why our 2006 inspection report found that the quality and standards of nursery education provided were “outstanding”.
