A school in Dereham is set to hold a number of student events to coincide with Children's Mental Health Week.

Neatherd High School will build awareness by discussing mental health during form times, inviting students to attend drop in sessions and holding special activities during lunch time.

Hannah Hall, who works as talking therapist at the school, said: 'We are the only school in the region to have achieved a Healthy Schools Gold Award for our mental health work. We realise good mental health is vital for our students to achieve their potential.'

Year round the school offers Mindfulness classes at form time and offers pupils access to counsellors trained in anger management and psychotherapeutic counselling.

Mental Health Week runs from February 5 until February 9 with the theme 'being ourselves'. The school highlights this theme is an important one for teenagers.
