A team of students and staff from Dereham have taken part in a half marathon in order to raise money for East Anglian Air Ambulance.

The team from Dereham Sixth Form College, consisting of students Lucy Burton and Ciera Drury, along with staff members Gill Meigh, Gordana Hills, took part in the Norwich Half Marathon on Sunday.

Between them they have raised £238 via a Go Fund Me page and a further £50 was raised at a cake sale. Students will be around Dereham Town Centre this week to raise more funds.

Miss Burton said: 'It was an amazing experience and I personally ran like I never thought I was capable of. It is an achievement I am proud of, and I'm very proud of the rest of the amazing Dereham Sixth Form College team that ran too.

'The fact we managed to raise lots for the East Anglian Air Ambulance is a big part of the huge achievement, and it was a pleasure to be running for them.'
