Dereham Town have received a big boost ahead of the new campaign with key man Rhys Logan signing a new contract.

The talented winger has committed for another season as the Magpies attempt to build on an encouraging finish under the managerial duo of Adam Gusterson and Olly Willis.

After taking over in January with the team in trouble the pair guided them to 14th in Bostik League Division One North - and with Logan on board there is a positive vibe around Aldiss Park ahead the return to training next week.

"Rhys is an excellent player, one who makes life very difficult for fullbacks with his skill and pace, and obviously we are delighted he will be here again next season," said Gusterson. "A player with his ability will always attract interest but I always thought he would stay. I am hopeful most of last season's squad will also sign, while work is going on behind the scenes to add one or two to the group."

One player who won't be with the club next season is defender Tom McLeish who has joined Norwich United.

Meanwhile Dereham picked up two awards which reflected the club's excellent disciplinary record at the league's annual meeting. New secretary Ben Williamson was presented with the Bostik League Division One North awards for Respect and Fair Play from league counterpart Nick Robinson.

It was also revealed that the league would have a new sponsor next season, with Bostik stepping down after two years.

"We'd like to sincerely thank Bostik for their support which has been greatly appreciated and has made an enormous difference to our clubs," said a statement on the league website. "We're rather delighted with their replacements, too - but they will not be announced until July 1. The new contract is with a national brand who want to work with us because of our growing digital footprint, and will last for an initial two years."

Fakenham Town have confirmed their reserve management team for next season's campaign in the second flight of the Anglian Combination.

The team will be run by James Bamford, who has played for the club before, and Dylan Stott who is new to the Ghosts, having worked with Blofield last season while studying for his UEFA B licence.

Meanwhile Stephen Harvey will be part of the first team set-up alongside manager Andy Cunningham and Scott Lumsden in an assistant coach/manager and playing capacity.

Wells Town are looking to build two very competitive teams for this coming season.

Training starts on Tuesday, July 25 at 7pm at Beach Road and will continue every Tuesday and Thursday until the first league match on August 13.

All existing and new players are welcome.
