During the final rehearsal of the Dereham Theatre Company's youth group, ahead of their latest show Cats , they appeared as the last clue on Radio Norfolk's Treasure Quest.

A spokesperson for the group said: 'The questmaster's right-hand woman, Anna Perrott, found Grizabella the Glamour Cat and the young kitten Jemima in Grizabella's lair with her mission.

'She had to earn her treasure by singing Memory from Cats. She then joined in with a chorus of Mr Mistoffelees with the whole cast.'

The cast made a donation of £918 to the charity Cats Protection, based at Longham, to go towards its new building.

The opening night of Cats takes place tonight, Wednesday April 11, and the show will run until Saturday April 14 at the town's Memorial Hall.
