Plans for a giant electricity cable which will snake its way from an offshore windfarm across Norfolk are tp go on show at three public exhibitions the first of which takes place tomorrow.
The cable will link the proposed Dudgeon Wind Farm, which will lie 32km to the north of Cromer, with an onshore substation.
If approved the wind farm will consist of 168 turbines and cover 35 square kilometres.
An application to build it is currently being considered by the Department of Energy and Climate Change.
The onshore underground cables required to connect the offshore wind farm to the national electricity network will be 45km in length and run from the coast at Weybourne to Little Dunham in Breckland.
A new electrical substation is planned underneath the existing overhead power lines south of Little Dunham.
To complete the development approval is also required for an onshore cable route and new electrical substation and the exhibitions are taking place prior to planning consent being sought.
The exhibitions will take place at:
Fakenham Parish Church, November 17, between 1pm and 8pm.
Necton Rural Community Centre, November 18, between midday and 7pm.
Holt Community Centre, November 19, between 1pm and 8pm.
The exhibition will include details of the proposed project and photomontages of the substation.
Senior company officials and specialist members of the development team will be available to answer questions.
