A fishing centre in Lyng has announced it will fundraise for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

The centre has chosen the BHF as its charity partner for 2018 and pledged to raise £2,000 for the charity.

The BHF funds life-saving research into cardiovascular disease (CVD), which kills one in four people in the UK.

The centre’s staff will be supporting BHF fundraising campaigns, and the centre will host events including CPR training and an open day.

David Wilby, fishery manger at Catch 22, said: “The BHF leads the fight against heart disease and we are very pleased to be supporting their vital work.

We have a great track record in raising funds for our charity partners.”

Dawne Hart, Fundraising Manager at the BHF, added: “We are thrilled to have been chosen. Staff and visitors to the centre will be raising funds to help the BHF realise its vision of a world where people don’t die prematurely or suffer from CVD.”
