An upcoming Norfolk musician has been recognised as one of the best in the country with a grant to help hone her talents.
Lois Braysher plays the clarinet and is one of the 71 young people aged between five and 18-years-old, to win up to £2,000 from Awards for Young Musicians (AYM).
The national charity grants awards to exceptionally talented young musicians, to support music making in any genre, and the money can help with expenses from music lessons, instrument purchase and travel.
And now 15-year-old Lois, from Dereham, will put the money towards the cost of clarinet lessons with an experienced teacher, who will help her work towards top music exam grades.
Lois is a member of Norfolk County Youth Orchestra, plays in her school, Northgate High School's concert band, and also plays saxophone in a Ska band.
Director of AYM Hester Cockcroft, said: “We received a high number of strong applications this year, so Lois' success in gaining an award is testament to her musical talent.
“Music is a big part of most people's lives and, by supporting the country's best young musicians; we're investing in all our musical futures.”
