A village hall is set to undergo a major revamp after more than £40,000 worth of funding was pledged towards its refurbishment.

Great Massingham Village Hall, between Fakenham and King’s Lynn, has been given a £44,700 grant from the funding body WREN to make significant improvements to the building.

The work will include refurbishing the kitchen, entrance and driveway, providing more accessible toilets, as well improving the overall look of the building to enable it to better serve the local community.

Philip Ward, chair of the Village Hall Trustees, said: “This project will provide a real boost to the people of Massingham and surrounding villages.

“It’s fantastic that WREN has awarded us this money and we’re really looking forward to our improved hall taking shape in the next few months”

It is hoped that the new village hall will be open for use by the middle of June.
