TOWN bosses have decided to look at renting out a three-bedroom home in Norwich Street they bought a number of years ago.

Dereham Town Council bought 58 Norwich Street so they could obtain access rights associated with the home, its markets and buildings committee was told on Tuesday night.

Owners of the house had a right of way through an alleyway along side the neighbouring Memorial Hall. The council closed the right of way, added a new one and considered selling the property.

It had originally been envisioned to possibly demolish the home as part of a proposed multi-million pound redevelopment of the Memorial Hall site.

However, the council is now looking at a smaller scheme, which would see the home left as it is, and the committee has decided to look at renting it out.
