Children at a school in Norfolk have spent the day learning the importance of road safety as part of a training scheme.
The lesson on how to be safe on the roads was delivered to year one pupils at Toftwood Infant School and was part of a scheme, known as Step On It training.
They learnt all about the signals cars might make when manoeuvring such as indicating, reversing and braking. They were also taught about crossing a road safely.
The lessons were led by teaching assistant, Diane Pilbrow, who said: 'It's a very important lesson that children should learn and if one day this saves a child's life, it is a great lesson for all.'
Road safety charity Brake called road accidents a major cause of death and injury for young people. Being aware of the dangers posed by traffic is also said to be a significant factor in whether children are willing to walk or cycle independently.
