A pensioner died of injuries suffered when the car he was travelling in left the road and ended up in a field, an inquest heard.Russell Smith, from Mattishall, near Dereham, died at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital four days after he was involved in an accident in Runhall, near Barnham Broom.

Russell Smith, from Mattishall, near Dereham, died at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital four days after he was involved in an accident in Runhall, near Barnham Broom.
The 89-year-old was driving a blue Hyundai Accent which left the road at the junction of Runhall Road and Church Road on September 5, 2009.
Although he was conscious and breathing after the accident, damage had been caused to his chest wall and he had broken several ribs, the inquest heard on Thursday. Mr Smith died on September 9, 2009.
A verdict of accidental death was recorded.
