Police were called to deal with 'rowdy behaviour' from some Leeds United football supporters who stopped in Dereham on their way to Norwich this afternoon.
About 200 fans arrived in the town at around 1pm, with one coach breaking down nearby as it carried fans to watch the top-of-the-table clash at Carrow Road, which the Canaries won 1-0.
Many congregated in and around the Red Lion pub on Quebec Street, where officers were sent as a precaution in case of any trouble. But a spokesman for Norfolk police said no serious incidents were recorded and no arrests were made.
'There were a couple of coach-loads of fans stopped to have a drink on their way to Norwich, but they did not stay long,' he said. 'One of the buses broke down, and we sent a lot of officers there as a precaution. There was some rowdy behaviour but nothing untoward was recorded and they all got back on the coach when asked.'
