A parish council meeting is to be held on Wednesday for villagers in Great Witchingham and Lenwade to find out more about plans for a former rendering plant building.

Great Witchingham Parish Council has called the meeting over Clay Hall Farm, recently bought by millionaire businessman Graham Dacre for his wife Julie.

It had caused massive controversy in the villages for the past two years as they fought against a rendering plant built there by poultry giant Banham Compost.

Mr and Mrs Dacre, who live in nearby Attlebridge, have vowed there will not be a rendering plant there again and their plans are to be put before the meeting.

It is understood the Dacres want to obtain permission for light industrial and storage use of the remaining buildings.

The meeting will be at Weston Longville Village Hall at 7.30pm.
