Children of key workers and staff from a mid Norfolk primary school have been busy creating a special banner to pay thanks to the NHS.

The huge poster was made by pupils at Mattishall Primary School, near Dereham, and has been placed outside the main gates for all to see.

Claire Findlay, assistant headteacher of the primary school, said: “Here is our well wishes to the community with this banner.

“Our key worker children helped to make this at the school.”

The special message reads “stay safe, stay at home, thank you key workers” and it has been thoughtfully decorated with rainbows and rainbow colours.

Although the government has asked parents to keep their children at home wherever possible, schools have been asked to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend including children who are vulnerable, and children whose parents are critical to the Covid-19 response and cannot be safely cared for at home.
