It was a day of record-breaking at Neatherd High School in Dereham as they hosted their annual sports festival.

1200 pupils took part in 40 different sports, with pupils allowed to choose three to participate in which included running, taekwondo and even zorb football.

Each of the school’s houses competed against each other in a points based system for a trophy, with more points being awarded through the performer of the activity scoring system where the activity leader ranked five people who they thought performed exceptionally well.

These points were then added to the race results to produce an overall winner, with this year’s winners named as Carter house.

Three records were broken on the day, with Charlie Summer breaking the year 7 high jump record, Matas Daugintis breaking the year 10 long jump record and Jasmine Hudson breaking the year 9 javelin record, which had stood since 1988.

The day also featured a staff relay race with different departments competing against each other, much to the enjoyment of the pupils watching on.
