A former teacher has taken over as chairman of a well known Dereham charity.Rosie Johnson, who has lived in the town for 14 years, said she was delighted to be succeeding Robin Goreham as chairman of the Leslie Potter Memorial Trust.
A former teacher has taken over as chairman of a well known Dereham charity.
Rosie Johnson, who has lived in the town for 14 years, said she was delighted to be succeeding Robin Goreham as chairman of the Leslie Potter Memorial Trust.
'I am delighted to have been elected to chair the Leslie Potter Trust,' she said. 'Robin will be a hard act to follow but I am looking forward to the challenges ahead. Since 2003 the trust has donated more than �75,000 to worthy causes.'
Rosie was born and educated in Norfolk and her family has Dereham associations stretching back a hundred years. Her main interests are gardening and educational pursuits.
She succeeds local councillor, Robin Goreham, who had chaired the charity since Leslie Potter's death in 2001.
On Thursday night the trust made grants totalling �2,262 to nine local groups and societies including the Dereham Music Festival, the Toftwood based BUILD charity and 2nd Dereham Scout Group.
