Two Norfolk businesses are teaming up to create an ambitious exhibit at the country’s most famous garden show.
Mongers Architectural Salvage, based in Hingham, is teaming up with Thorncroft Clematis of Reymerston to create a display at the Chelsea Flower show.
The garden display will be built by Mongers, who will base it around a historic manufacturing firm that was once based in Norwich called Boulton and Paul.
The display will be placed in the Chelsea Grand Pavilion and feature 50 varieties and over 600 clematis plants grown by Thorncroft.
Sam Coster of Mongers said: “It is a perfect marriage, architectural salvage and climbing plants. The colour and beauty of the clematis is very much enhanced against fine antique wrought iron work.
“Boulton & Paul made many items for gardens and, being a local firm, seemed a perfect backdrop to our local nurseries plants.”
The Chelsea Flower Show takes place May 22 to May 25.
