A school in Mattishall has replanted more than 200 trees after their first attempt was met with vandalism.
In February the pupils at Mattishall Primary School had completed their willow project and proud year 5 students, who had taken charge of the project and spent weeks planning it, were able to take a well deserved break.
But 24 hours later, their hard work was completely destroyed by vandals.
Housing developer Abel Homes heard the news and soon offered to pay to replace the trees.
Since then, the year 5's have been back in action and organised for each individual pupil to replant a willow. There is now a written record so that in the future when pupils bring their own children to the school they will be able to identify their tree.
The school said they wished to thank Abel Homes for all their support, along with tree warden Pauline Williamson and gardener Robert French.
