A Norwich City player from Dereham scored his first league goal on Saturday during the Canaries' home victory over Rotherham United.

Todd Cantwell, who went to Northgate High School in Dereham and played for Dereham Town Youth, starred in City's 3-1 Championship win, scoring his side's first goal to bring the score level at 1-1 before setting up Max Aarons for Norwich's second.

Cantwell has broken into the first team this season and has been a key part of the side which has risen to the the top of the league, with City currently sitting one point ahead of Leeds who are in second.

Norwich City manager Daniel Farke praised the youngster and said: 'We know Todd has this ability and he showed in this game he can produce it on a high level.'

He made his league debut earlier this season against Reading and immediately made an impact, playing in Finland international Teemu Pukki for City's first goal.
