Jewellery has been stolen during a burglary in Dereham and police are appealing for information from the community.

The break-in occurred at a property on Lilac Close on Tuesday, sometime between 12.45pm and 2.45pm.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area between those times to contact them.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a man acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the incident.

He is described as white, aged in his late 30s or early 40s, just under 6ft tall, of medium build and with light coloured hair. He was wearing a green baseball cap, a tan jacket and it is believed he was smoking a cigarette.

Anyone with information should contact DC Claire Lordan at Thetford CID on 101.
