The school has recently been the subject of an OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education) and among the gold stars awarded the school were for levels of attendance, the care staff take with their pupils, pupils' behavour, pupils' co-operation in class and their enjoyment of reading and their understanding of the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
Areas where the inspectors would like to see improvements include raising attainment in maths and science subjects, planning for additional work so that pupils gaining higher standards can be further challenged, helping pupils gain a broader understanding of their roles and responsibilities as young citizens beyond their school and local community.
In a letter to the school following the inspection, the inspectors thanked the pupils for being so polite and interested and for asking lots of questions which they hoped they were able to answer. 'Beeston is a satisfactory school', the inspectors said.
