Gin and prosecco now on offer at third Dereham beer and music festival
Round tablers are busy preparing for Dereham’s third annual beer and music festival, which they aim to make a permanent fixture in the calendar.
Once again, it will be taking place in the fantastic setting of Dereham Memorial Hall over the May 5/6 Bank Holiday weekend.
There will be more than 30 beers available and a choice of ciders, plus a selection of gins and mixers.
Live music will include everything from folk to rock and pop to brass band.
Dereham & District Round Table spokesman Stuart Sutton said: “We aim to build on our previous years’ successes in making this community event a permanent fixture in the local calendar.
“The success of last year’s event meant we were able to provide much needed funding to Scotty’s Little Soldiers to the tune of £1,250, and this year our efforts are aimed at surpassing this in support of East Anglian Air Ambulance.
“Our third festival sees us significantly expanding our offering, with both gin and prosecco complementing the considerable beer and cider options, and a broader selection of food choices adding further appeal.
“On Sunday we are putting on a family fun day with a variety of activities for younger children both inside and out, This will include bouncy castles, sports activities and a children’s entertainer.
“We will, of course, have a great line-up of live music throughout the weekend.”
The first festival in 2016 raised money for Dereham Community First Responders.
Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a military charity dedicated to supporting children who have lost a parent serving in the British Armed Forces.
Opportunities for businesses to be key supporters of the event and to gain good exposure are detailed at www.derehambeerfestival.co.uk/supporters. Options include free entry for up to 12 people (on its own worth £120), commemorative glasses and tokens to get things started. Recognition of support will be given in the festival tasting notes which are handed out on admission to all guests and also on the website and social media platforms.
