Carl Waller was determined to be positive when he was made redundant for the first time in his working life.
And the 39-year-old has 'gone it alone' by launching his own business Mowbile Mowers.
Mr Waller, of Foxley, spent more than 23 years working for local firms in the garden machinery service, sales, repairs and hire sector.
'For a long time I had wanted to start my own business and never had the nerve but once I got made redundant I made the decision to do it,' said Mr Waller, who is encouraging other people considering running their own enterprises to take the plunge.
He can do a wide range of work including grass cutting, hedge and tree trimming, lawn scarifying, property maintenance as well as servicing, hire and sales of garden equipment.
Mr Waller can be contacted on 07733 335939 or by e-mail carl@mowbilemowers.co.uk
