AN art exhibition featuring the work of pupils inspired by the World Art Collection at the Sainsbury Centre has gone on display.

Youngsters from Northgate High School, Mattishall Primary School, Scarning Primary School, Swanton Morley Primary School, Thomas Bullock Primary School and Yaxham Primary School were given an item from the collection to be inspired by.

And for the past few months sketching, painting and sculpting has all been taking place to create an exhibition, which is now on display at Northgate High School for the next week.

Northgate pupil Ben Hudson, 14, said: “It was interesting. We got to take part in more practical work. Finding out about the piece and working around it to create our work was great.”

Organiser of the event, deputy headteacher of Thomas Bullock Primary School, Angela Phelps, said: “The experience of working with a unique and diverse collection has inspired children.

“They've made vibrant, exciting artefacts and had the chance to experience working with an outstanding local exhibition.”
