A second-hand furniture store is extending its collection service to allow people in the Dereham area to donate good quality second hand furniture to a great cause.

Restore, a social enterprise run by The Benjamin Foundation, is based in Holt and is packed with used furniture and white goods donated by people in North Norfolk.

All profits from Restore are put back into The Benjamin Foundation and used to provide a wide range of support services for children, young people and families. In addition, items of furniture and essential white goods are provided free, or at discounted rates, for people who are in real need.

In a bid to reach more homes staff at Restore are asking people in Dereham to get in touch if they have any unwanted, but well cared for furniture that they are willing to donate.

Manager Steve Carney said they were always disappointed if they had to turn down donations. 'We've always undertaken regular furniture collections from towns and villages around North Norfolk and until now we have had to turn down a large number of wonderful donations because they fell outside our area.

'That's why we have extended our collection service to include Dereham and the area to the North of the town. We now cover the upturned triangle from Dereham up to Fakenham and Aylsham and can reach lots more homes.'

Every item sold by Restore has to be of excellent quality. All upholstered furniture has an up-to-date fire certificate and electrical items such as fridges, freezers and lamps are all PAT tested before they go on sale. Restore doesn't accept small electrical items, gas appliances or computers as safety cannot be guaranteed.

Contact Restore on 01263 713721 or visit the store on Glaven Road, Hempstead Road Industrial Estate, Holt. It is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
