An ongoing heatwave and dry spell around the country could be interrupted with thunderstorms and downpours later this week.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms from 2pm on Friday, July 20 to midnight on Saturday.

They say most places will be dry, but that there is the potential for slow-moving thundery downpours in places.

The warning covers much of the south and east of England, including all of East Anglia.

In the warning, the Met Office says there is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, as well as delays and cancellations to train, bus and tube services.
