Children at Toftwood Infant School enjoyed special activities, extra events and exciting visitors to inspire their reading during Book Week.
The theme was 'Lost in Space'. It started with storytelling by author James Campbell, which included a poem about a wobbling wallaby and lots of audience participation. Nursery class enjoyed stories with author Brian Ogden.
Maria Holloway from Tiny Talk held space themed singing and signing sessions including learning the signs to 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' and 'Three Little Men in a Flying Saucer'.
A Bedtime Stories evening event saw around 100 children came back to school in their pyjamas, with teddies and pillows to share stories with their families.
On the final day children and staff dressed up as their favourite characters or objects from a space related book.
