A group of pupils were given the chance to rocket into space and take a trip down under from the comfort of their own classroom.
Children at Toftwood Infant School recently took part in a virtual reality workshop.
Year one pupils were able to use the technology to zoom into space and visit planets within the solar system, while the year two class travelled to Australia.
Kelsey Hooper, the computing subject leader, said: “It was a very valuable experience for the children as it has immersed the children into their topic learning through the use of technology and provided a wonderful learning experience.”
The year one pupils learnt facts about planets and shared their new knowledge with the class, while the year two pupils listened to Aboriginal stories and discussed beliefs. They also watched tribal dances and finished the workshop with a game of ‘find it’.
