There were delays on the A47 around the Norfolk Showground as the campsite opened for Sundown Festival 2021.
Traffic has eased since the campsite opened at 12pm, with severe delays reported earlier on.
Festival-goers got there early to get the best pitch ahead of the arena opening on Friday evening.
Drivers may still be affected by the closure of the A11 following a three-vehicle crash about a quarter mile from the Thickthorn roundabout on the Norwich bound carriageway.
The festival, which is returning for its ninth edition, runs until Sunday with chart-topping acts performing, including Rudimental, Becky Hill, Joel Corry, Bugzy Malone and Example.
