Emergency services have been called out to a series of road crashes that may have been caused by icy roads this morning.

Norfolk Police are reminding motorists and motorcyclists to take care on the roads, to leave plenty of time to make journeys and to drive to the road conditions, following the incidents.

Police were called to a one-vehicle crash at Fakenham Road, in Hoe, near Dereham, at 7.34am, where a motorcyclist suffered injuries and was taken to hospital.

The road closed was closed, before re-opening at 8:56am.

At 7.41am, police were called to the B1454 at Sedgeford after two cars apparently skidded off the road at the same place.

A Ford Ka ended up in a ditch and the driver had to be removed by fire service. An ambulance was sent to the scene, but no-one was seriously injured.

The road was closed between Sedgeford and Docking, and reopened at 8.48am.

Police were also called to a crash involving a car and van in Brandon.

It happened on Blackbird Avenue and involved a Citroen DS3 and Ford Transit.

No injuries were reported, but ambulance was on scene.

It is believed the road remained open, but traffic was controlled on the road.

Police also said a motorcyclist was left with minor injuries after coming off in Harts Farm Road in Wymondham.

Norfolk Constabulary was also called out at 5.25am to help a coach at Burgh Lane, Mattishall, which had become stuck in sheet ice at the top of a hill.

Officers used rock salt to help free the coach and requested a highways team to grit the road, as it was very slippery with bad conditions there.
