In her first year of life little Tiana Mackay underwent three life-saving heart operations.

She will be on medication for the rest of her life, but Tiana has proved to be a fighter and has inspired thousands of people to sign up to a webpage telling her story.

Now Tiana's mum, Lisa King, 29, from Dereham, has won £1,000 for that website, which she created through internet social networking site Facebook to highlight the work of Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, where Tiana underwent treatment for her rare heart condition.

More than 1,200 Facebook members signed up and it helped raise £2,000 for the hospital after Ms King's partner, course adviser Kevin Mackay, 36, completed a sponsored parachute jump.

Since then 3,000 members signed up to root for the youngster and on Monday it was announced Ms King had won the "Facebook for Good" contest - and £1,000 - ahead of 100 other entrants after receiving more than 3,000 votes.

Ms King said: “It is a lovely surprise, we are over the moon. After the past year we have had we all could do with a good break.”

She said it was really touching how much support the family and Tiana had been given and that Tiana, now 13-months-old, was now doing really well and starting to put weight on.

Tiana was born with two heart defects: a very rare one called Alcapa, meaning the coronary artery was in the wrong place, and mitral regurgitation, where the heart's mitral valve does not close tightly stopping the blood from flowing efficiently through the heart and body.

She was able to return home to be with her dad Kevin and her big brother Dylan, seven, for her first birthday in December.
