The ambition to have 90 minute train times between Norwich and London is in doubt, it has been claimed.
A report in The Sunday Times quotes sources saying that the Norwich in 90 pledge was in doubt to provide new train services to ease overcrowding and cut journey times.
The Norwich in 90 campaign was launched in 2010. It was backed by MPs, councils and business leaders, and pressed for improvements, including cutting typical travel times for the 115-mile journey from 1hr 50 mins to 1hr 30mins.
The Sunday Times article raises the future of the improved times in an article that features concerns about train operators' financial stability amid a row with Network Rail
The article has a response from Greater Anglia that states the company 'does not anticipate any problems with Network Rail' over the issue of Norwich to 90 pledge.
Network Rail also said it would be improvements affecting Greater Anglia next year.
