Police are investigating reports of an attack on a woman at her home in Hardingham by a cold caller.

It is the second sex attack on a woman in her own home in Norfolk over the last few days, following an assault in Diss, although police say the incidents are not linked.

The attack happened last Friday, just after 8.30pm, when a woman said she was cold-called at the house, in the village between Dereham and Wymondham, by a man asking to read the meter.

The householder refused and said the man then forced his way into the address and sexually assaulted her.

Officers are continuing with their enquiries and are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area.

Witnesses should contact on Det Sgt Chris Burgess on 101.
