AN in-form Dereham Town notched up their third successive Ridgeons Premier win on Tuesday night at Woodbridge, and must fancy their chances in their next two games.

On Saturday they visit bottom team Histon Reserves, followed on Tuesday night with a home derby with Swaffham, who are fourth from bottom.

Woodbridge Town 0, Dereham Town 3

THE Magpies made a confident start Tuesday night but could not trouble Marcus Garnham until the eighth minute when the home keeper had to dash from his box to block Grey's effort after Anselin's ball had dissected the Woodpeckers' defence.

The same striker had another shot charged down before defender Scales made a timely interception to stop Harris on the edge of the area, writes Rene Kendal.

Dereham dominated the opening 25 minutes but their crossing was letting them down.

Woodbridge won a flag kick that was quickly cleared upfield to Howell, who appeared to travel too far to the by-line but regained possession. However, his poor centre was collected by the keeper.

In the 28th minute Beaumont fed Robbie Harris, who progressed to the edge of the area before hammering home a quality left-foot shot to deservedly put the Magpies in front.

Woodbridge had their first attempt on goal in the 33rd minute with Marshall having to palm away O'Neil's 25-yard drive after Dereham had got caught on the break.

Dereham were soon back on the offensive, winning a corner, but Harris volleyed wide.

The half ended with Dereham increasing their lead when Scott Grey cashed in on a defensive mix-up to round the keeper and coolly slot the ball home.

At the start of the second half Woodbridge could not find the early goal they required to lift their spirits, with Dereham nearly adding to their tally in the 55th minute.

Beaumont picked up a wayward pass and raced forward before toe-poking a 12-yard drive that Garnham saved.

The game's pace dropped considerably with Woodbridge showing no great desire to claw back the deficit.

Grey burst forward after receiving Harris' through ball and out-paced defender Roper only for keeper Garnham to make a fine save from his firm goal-bound effort.

In the 70th minute Howell received Harris' ball over the home defence. The wide man rounded the keeper before planting an accurate chipped shot into the net from the left of the area.

Dereham should have netted again in the 85th minute with Howell failing to convert Harris' far-post cross.

Defender Terrington made a great block to prevent Woodbridge from scoring a consolation goal from Churchyard's low drive as Dereham eased to a comfortable victory.
