Dereham Town Football Club has announced the departure of its chairman.

Ben Williamson is stepping down after six years at Aldiss Park.

In a statement on the club’s website, they thanked him for the work and effort he put in.

The web page also included a statement from Mr Williamson, who said: "This has been an agonising and difficult decision that I haven’t taken easily, but it’s the right moment for me to dedicate more time with my family and try to achieve a better balance within my personal life.

"This has been an amicable decision, and I’m grateful for the support I’ve had during my time at Dereham. It has been a pleasure and an honour to hold the roles that I have.

"I have worked tirelessly to move the football club forward and am proud of what we have achieved over my time here.

"I want to thank everyone connected to the club for their work, dedication and loyalty.

The football club goes on to say the structure is currently under review, with work being put in behind the scenes to ensure they get into the strongest position possible - and it will keep supporters up to date with all events on its social media channels and website.
