Carrow Road plays host to three Norfolk cup finals

The Senior Cup final, the Women’s Cup final and the Junior Cup final are all being played at Norwich City’s home on Sunday.

Mulbarton Wanderers will be looking for more silverware – they have already been crowned Thurlow Nunn Premier champions, won the League Challenge Cup last weekend and on Sunday have interest in two finals.

Their double-winning first team – managed jointly Danny Self and Ben Thompson - face Dereham Town in the Senior Cup final (3pm) while their reserves come up against Attleborough Town in the Junior Cup final (10.30am).

Rounding off the Super Sunday of football will be the women’s cup final between Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers and Wroxham (7.30pm).

Mulbarton Wanderers made it into the Senior Cup final after beating Acle United 6-0, Wroxham 3-1, Norwich United 2-0 and, in the semi-final, Gorleston 3-1 on penalties after the match finished 21-2.

Dereham’s route to Carrow Road saw them beat Anglian Combination Premier-runners-up Long Stratton in 4-1, Sprowston 2-0, Harleston Town 4-1 and then Fakenham 1-0 in the semi-finals.

The Junior Cup final is a match-up between two sides from the Anglian Combination Division Two. Wanderers Reserves – who sit mid-table - beat The Wanderers 5-0 in round one, won 8-1 at Belton, 4-1 against North Walsham Town Reserves, 5-2 at home to Hempnall and then 6-0 against Bradenham & Mattishall Reserves before a 2-1 win at Terrington in the semi-finals.

Attleborough Town are champions-elect, and got to the final after beating Norwich United Reserves 1-0, Briston 7-1, Tacolneston Reserves 6-3, Dersingham Rovers 2-0, KLSC 6-1 and Costessey Sports 6-1 in the semi-finals.
