Bowlers look for third title
Dereham Indoor Bowling Club Men's A team acheived a second league title in as many years, securing the Norfolk County Division 4. This comes a year after winning Division 5.
Dereham Indoor Bowling Club Men's A team acheived a second league title in as many years, securing the Norfolk County Division 4. This comes a year after winning Division 5. The club, based at the Dereham Leisure centre, was only formed in 2007.
In a close game at Shotford, needing two points they scored a 5-2 victory with the two losing rinks going down 21-20. This win also saw the end of Peter Fern's captaincy after his decision to stand down and the team made a gesture of their thanks for his hard work and success over the past two years.
The Men's B team, under Roger Lench, finished mid-table in Division 5 with some strong wins towards the end of the season.
This was also the case for the Ladies' League team who are building a strong squad for next year under their new captain and club coach Yvonne Hunt.
The A team start in October in Division 3 under the leadership of new captain Arthur Mobbs. looking for three titles in three years.
