Bowls: Season starts with defeat for Dereham St Nicholas

AFTER cancelling their opening drive due to the weather, Dereham St Nicks finally got their season underway with a visit to Hingham in the EBA Division One League.

Played on a cold evening, St Nicks found their hosts in good form, with Hingham running out 5-0 winners. I Turnbull's block recorded the best result, having led early on they finally lost by 29 shots to 13.
