Bradenham A (5pts) lost to Bungay (24) by seven wickets in the Frankly Digital Norfolk Alliance Division Four

This was another disappointment for Bradenham A, but with five players aged 18 or under the team can only learn from the experience and get better.

They are bottom of the table, still looking for their first win.

Bradenham entertained Bungay on another lovely day on the Green. Skipper Ian Moody won the toss for Bradenham and elected to bat on a good track.

Openers Hills and Gibb were comfortable against the Bungay attack with boundaries flowing immediately on the lightning-quick outfield. But Gibb was out, caught for 13 attempting a typical big shot.

Moody joined Hills and together they took the score to 70 before Hills was bowled for 37 which included seven elegant fours.

Incoming batsman Evans also found the Bungay bowling to his liking and began to hit the line with some fine drives. The pair moved the score to 102 before Moody was caught at mid-on for a well-made 36.

Bates was caught behind off Lewis for four, bringing Wilton to the crease. The young Bradenham batsmen then enjoyed a fine 50-run partnership before Evans was caught on the backward square boundary off Lewis for an excellent 43.

Wilton pressed on well, but partners were falling at the other end. He finished on a well-made 46 not out with the team finishing on 198 for eight. Lewis took three for 26 off eight overs.

Bungay openers Mattocks and Lewis began solidly against Bradenham's opening bowlers Watts and Adcock and were soon peppering the boundary. They put on 73 before Mattocks was bowled by Moody for 33.

Will Dewing accounted for the next two Bungay batsmen in quick succession with the score on 107 before Fuller came to the wicket.

Lewis was in fine form at the other end and proceeded to stroke the ball to all corners of the Green.

Bowling changes could not split the partnership, and with Fuller also contributing well, the pair passed the required total in the 39th over, with Fuller on 53 not out and with Lewis capping a man-of-the-match performance with a superb unbeaten 107. Will Dewing was the pick of the Bradenham bowlers with two for 34.

BRADENHAM travelled to Topcroft on Sunday, with Brett captaining in brother Ashley's absence. They gained a much-needed and well-deserved win.

He won the toss and elected to bat. They lost the first wicket early, when Peter Hills was caught after hitting three boundaries.

Mark Hunter was next in and runs came quickly, with the 50 coming up in seven overs. Hunter was caught in the 20th over with the score on 98.

Brett Stolworthy then joined Thurley at the crease. Thurley reached his half-century and was eventually bowled for 68.

W Affleck joined Stolworthy in the middle and started to score well, before Stolworthy mistimed a shot and was caught on 25.

P Dewing then joined Affleck to push the score along. Affleck reached his 50 not out and Dewing was 23 not out. Bradenham finished on 231 for four.

S Watts and 14-year-old Ruben Leroy opened the bowling and Topcroft lost the first wicket early on, bowled Leroy and caught in the deep by Hunter.

The second wicket soon followed after a mix-up between the batsmen led to a run-out.

Another run-out saw B Baldwin, who looked dangerous, dismissed, and Topcroft were three down.

Leroy came back on to bowl and took his second wicket of the day. Chad Balluza then had batsman five stumped and Ricky Robins changed ends, which proved a good move, as he bowled two batsmen in succession.

One Topcroft batsman had to retire hurt, before 16-year-old Chris George took two in one over, one very well caught by Chad Balluza in the deep, the other stumped by Will Affleck. Topcroft were all out for 191

Bradenham's next game is at home to Dereham.
