PROMOTION favourites Bradenham Wanderers went into this Dolphin Auto's Anglian Combination Division Four fixture with confidence within the club on a high, which showed with every player except the holidaying John Allison available for selection. Steve Cox came in up front for Allison.

Hindringham kicked off attacking from the start down the slope with a strong wind at their backs, but the early pressure was dealt with efficiently and as the game settled Bradenham began to get the ball down and play the ball around on the floor.

A quick move involving four players brought an early reward for the Bulldogs. A ball into Forder in the visitors' box saw him turn and finish in typical style in the ninth minute. Within 10 minutes the Bulldogs had doubled their lead when again Forder found space in the box. His first two efforts were blocked first by the keeper and secondly by last-ditch defending, but the ball ran kindly for him and he tapped into an empty net.

The second half started with no real clear-cut chances. It seemed that playing with the wind had no great advantage as both teams performed better playing against it.

In the 65th minute another home move ended with a tremendous shot from the edge of the box from man of the match Marc Galer which took a slight deflection and looped over the outstretched arm of the visiting keeper, clipping the underside of the bar before nestling in the back of the net.

Bradenham made three quick substitutions bringing Smart, Dickinson and Sexton into the fray to get valuable playing minutes under their belts, as changing a winning side is always difficult. All performed to the standard that had been set, but no further goals were added. The game was played in the right spirit and was well refereed by Mr Kennedy.

This week sees a quick return fixture at Hindringham, 2.30pm kick off. Players to meet at Dereham Fire Station 12.45pm. Hopefully the new Joint Effort-sponsored minibus will be available to use to travel to the game.
