Three members of Dereham Runners were among a record total of 40,000 entrants in the 37th London Marathon.

Club chairman Todd Lake finished in 3:18.20, placing him at 4,314, while Rob Crockford from Swaffham dug deep to complete the 26-mile course in 4:21.29. Veteran Jacquie Wood from Yaxham turned in a respectable time of 5:41.11.

Lake described the race as 'an incredible experience — albeit a shattering one!'

Several DRAC members travelled to Great Yarmouth to take part in the East Coast Triathlon, that took in a 250m swim, a 10-mile bike ride and a 3km run. Chris Searle and Chris Hosier competed on Saturday, with Searle scoring the fastest swim (3.07) and second fastest run (10.11) of the day. This gave an overall time was 46.08, placing him fifth overall. Hosier totalled 56.44 to come in 44th.Having recently completing his 100th marathon, Ian Odgers completed his first triathlon in 1:19.22 for 117th place.
