Dereham Town U18, in the the Ridgeons Youth League Championship play-off final against Huntingdon Town won 2-1 aet. Joel Brien opened the scoring for the Magpies early in the second half, and they then had many opportunities to finish the game off, playing some of the best football of the match.

But Huntingdon equalised midway through the half. At the beginning of the first period of extra time, the Dereham lads withstood pressure. The second period saw Dereham well on top but it took a Zac Baker 20-yarder in the last minute to seal the win.

The lads fully deserved their victory with the Huntingdon officials agreeing that the best team won on the night. Dereham Town FC now have the best U18 side in the Eastern Counties.
