Dereham Cricket Club won the new Ray Lusted Memorial Trophy in honour of their late president, who sadly died after a short illness during the winter.
Local teams Swaffham, Mattishall, Bradenham and Dereham made the line-up with Dereham and Mattishall battling it out in the 20/20 final.
Music, a pink ball and flashing bails were the key to a great competition set up by the Dereham CC committee and the weather certainly was with them.
Mattishall posted 165 from their 20 overs with Jay Eastoe-Smith hitting 67.
In reply Dereham got home safely with three overs to spare with all batsmen contributing to the score.
'What a wonderful way to celebrate Ray's life,' commented Dick Barham, one of his closest friends, who said Ray would have loved seeing this in his honour.
'Ray was one of a kind,' said Neil Irons, who led the presentation. 'He was forever walking the boundary, chatting to everyone, he attended every social event including youth training sessions and often travelled to away games, including midweek. His generosity to the club will never be forgotten and this series of matches will continue for a long, long time.'
Ray's friends Dick Barham, Myra Smith and Michael Skedge presented the trophy and everyone present raised their glasses and had a minute's applause for Ray.
Eastoe-Smith received the man-of-the-match trophy, umpires Mr Paine and Mr Hansell received bottles of wine and Jake Anema, captain of Dereham CC, lifted the fantastic Ray Lusted Memorial Trophy which was donated by Ray's friends.
The evening closed with thanks to Dereham CC chairperson Mandy Richmond for the hard work behind the scenes in setting up the event in Ray's honour, along with the rest of the committee.
Mattishall's disappointing run in Division Two of the Norfolk Alliance continued when they lost a tight home game against Norwich A.
Chasing a Norwich total of 194 they finished five runs short on 189-8 with Simon Chipperfield making 79.
Mattishall A lost by six wickets to Horsford B in Division Five after making 138-9.
On Saturday the firsts travel to Downham Town A while the seconds play host to Great Melton A.
