Dereham 69, Felixstowe 17

Dereham's captain Andy Brook was full of praise for his team. 'That was probably the best display of the season, the handling, commitment and completeness of the performance is really encouraging as we come to the last phase of the season,' he said.

'With four more league games we'll be aiming for maximum points and to see if we can climb a couple of league places by the end of the year.'

A run of three defeats that had seen them fall as many places in the league. A string of injuries to key players and non-availability took its toll on their peak position of second.

Now with the return of Will Affleck at fly-half, Jack Edwards at full-back, Ben Harradine at hooker and Gareth Drewery on the wing, the side regained some of its earlier sparkle as they ran in a season best 13 tries against mid-table Felixstowe.

Rhys Leeder collected the ball from the kick-off and charged up the centre of the field. Jack Edwards joined the backs' line and out-paced the defence for a score within the first minute.

Evans found Dunsire at the line-out and the forwards rumbled towards the line with a driving maul.

Fish burst off the back for the last five yards to add try two after five minutes.

Lewis Rayner and Jack Edwards capitalised on the space created as the pair traded scores all afternoon. Rayner's mazey runs and Edwards' more direct approach brought each of them four tries.

Gant made regular forays infield and was rewarded with a brace of scores and Chester celebrated his first score of the year, whilst Afleck mixed things up with chips and crossfield kicks.

Felixstowe never gave up looking for the counter-punch and a mix-up under the posts led to their first try. And two more followed in the second half from loose ball and an interception.

Leeder and Ponder had outstanding games in the back row, linking up all afternoon to break the gain line and get the side moving forward.

Ponder went close to a try but was brought down short of the line and managed to off-load to Carl Edwards who made the last yards to register one for the pack.

Next, Dereham travel to play Thetford.
