Scarning teenager Nathan Protheroe, an under 20 athlete who trains at both West Norfolk and Dereham Runners Athletics clubs, has booked his place in the England Indoor Championships.
He will be competing in the 60m hurdles at the English institute of Sport in Sheffield.
He needed a qualifying time of 8.9 seconds, which he achieved at the weekend in the South of England Indoor Championships at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre.
In a good clean race he finished his heat in third place with a time of 8.83 seconds which was a new personal best and secured him a place in the final. He then had another clean run over the hurdles and finished in seventh place and for the second time that day broke his personal best time, finishing in 8.77 seconds. It was a time which gaves him a top 20 ranking in the United Kingdom and more importantly a place in the National Championships in February.
