Dan Zelos brought a dash of Hollywood glamour to Rockingham Motor Speedway last weekend as the young Dereham ace battled to a brace of hard-earned top 10 finishes in the Renault UK Clio Cup.
He was behind the wheel of a car whose livery bore a striking resemblance to Cole Trickle's iconic Chevrolet Lumina from 'Days of Thunder'.
Rockingham is the only circuit in the UK to incorporate an oval section — a style more typically associated with North American racing — and Zelos decided to pay homage to this with a special NASCAR-inspired roof design on his Evergreen Tyres-sponsored Clio.
He made a scintillating start to race one, from 14th place on the grid, to be eighth at the end of the lap, a position he would finish in.
In the second race Zelos progressed to ninth after starting 12th to consolidate his seventh position in the overall standings.
