DEREHAM manager Matty Henman insists there is 'no panic' at Aldiss Park after watching his side slip to a third successive league defeat on Saturday.

The Magpies were beaten 5-1 at home by CRC, dropping them to sixth in the Ridgeons League Premier Division, 10 points behind leaders Wroxham.

Henman believes a simple lack of confidence is to blame for the poor run.

'We know we've got to get better and we need to find that bit of confidence we are searching for and play ourselves into form,' he said.

'The players here have done well for us in the past so it's a case of not panicking and holding our nerve. We have got to be a bit more resilient when things go against us. We are not dealing with adversity very well and we are letting one or two goals against us turn into three or four because of the lack of belief and confidence.'

The Magpies are without a game this Saturday and Henman is welcoming the chance to regroup after Saturday's heavy defeat: 'I think it's good to have a break because we are one or two short of a full squad and we'll be looking to strengthen within the next week or so. The week off will allow players to come back and then we have the Christmas period with three local derbies which will bring a bit of atmosphere.'

Henman admitted it was one of the more difficult periods during his managerial reign, but added: 'We had a lot of success last year and if you class being sixth as a difficult time then it shows what we have achieved. We are realistic and we know the club has a lot to look forward to with the plans we have in place and the quality of the young players coming through.

'This is very much a blip – if we were having these results without the depth in talent which we have, then it would be a worry.'
