Bradenham Wanderers 1, Stalham Town 1.

This was a game which promised a lot in the early stages but seemed to peter out as a number of substitutes were introduced in the later stages.

Bradenham started playing some fast, slick football but failing to convert any of the chances they created.

On five minutes Bush shot wide when well placed, then three minutes later Forder headed over from a left-wing cross.

Bush was next in line to miss an easy chance when he shot wide again, having been neatly set up by Ashby, who looked lively early on.

Stalham gradually got into the game and on 25 minutes their No 10 mis-hit an easy chance straight into the arms of home keeper Spalding. On 28 minutes Ashby had the next opportunity, but he too shot wide.

On 34 minutes Bradenham took the lead when Bush side-footed home after some good approach work on the left.

Just before the interval Woodcock hit a fierce shot low across the face of the goal which just eluded the advancing home attackers.

A few minutes into the second half and Forder was brought down in the box only for Bush to shoot rather tamely from the spot, and the Stalham keeper made an easy save.

The game was becoming rather scrappy with the Bulldogs giving the ball away far too easily, and Stalham were looking the more likely to score.

Midway through the second half the Stalham No 10 shot wide when it was easier to score.

Ashby had the chance to put the Bradenham out of sight but he mis-hit his shot after a goalmouth scramble.

It was no surprise when Stalham equalised on 82 minutes. A free-kick bounced up and rebounded off keeper Spalding for an advancing forward to score with ease.

The last chance of the game went to Woodcock, who hit a well-struck volley which curved just wide of the left post.

Bradenham finished third in Anglian Combination Division One with 51 points from 28 games, 13 points behind second-placed Wymondham.
