Sixteen Dereham Runners Juniors attended the second Norfolk Sportshall League meeting at Lynn Sport, King's Lynn on Saturday. Again they all worked really well as a team, including those who were there for their first time.

Results: U15 boys two-lap race: Will Davies (25.0), Jamie Abbott (26.5). Four-lap race: Will Davies (53.3), Jamie Abbott (62.4). Standing long jump: Jamie Abbott (2.26m), Will Davies (1.84m). Standing triple jump: Will Davies (5.99m), Jamie Abbott (5.53m). Shot: Will Davies (7.92m) and Jamie Abbott (5.76m).

U13 boys two-lap race: William Moore (28.1), Tom Kirton (29.4). Two-lap hurdles: William Moore (29.5), James Darton (34.2). Four-lap race: Tom Kirton (65.0), James Darton (69.7). Standing long jump: James Darton (1.68m). Standing triple jump: William Moore (5.88m PB), Tom Kirton(4.54). Shot: William Moore (6.84M), Tom Kirton (5.68m). Vertical jump: James Darton (34).

William and Tom came second in both shot and standing long jump with their combined scores.

U11 girls and boys two-lap race: Amy Skipp (31.8), Joseph Nicholson (32.8), Alex Darton (33.4), Ophelia Campbell (36.7). Two-lap hurdles: Jono Abbott (33.9), Ashleigh Britnell (34.7), Octavia Campbell (35.8), Joseph Nicholson (37.1). Four-lap race: Georgia Perks (64.8), Ashley Jarvis (67.8), Isaac King (69.0), Octavia Campbell (76.2). Six-lap Paarlauf: Georgia Perks and Amy Skipp (95.9), Isaac King and Ashley Jarvis (91.3). Standing long jump: Jono Abbott (1.80m), Ashley Jarvis (1.70m), Ashleigh Britnell (1.56m), Amy Skipp (1.32m). Speed bounce: Jono Abbott (49), Georgia Perks (48), Ashley Jarvis (44), Octavia Campbell (40). Seated ball throw: Isaac King (5m), Ashleigh Britnell (4.25m), Alex Darton (3.75m), Ophelia Campbell (3.50m). Vertical jump: Joseph Nicholson (32), Octavia Campbell (25), Alex Darton (21), Ophelia Campbell (14).

Octavia, Ashleigh, Georgia and Amy also competed in the girls' obstacle relay. In the boys, Joseph, Alex, Isaac and Jono competed. Jono Abbott and Ashley Jarvis, not wanting to be outdone by the U13 boys, also came second in the standing long jump and speed bounce with their combined scores.

TWO Dereham Runners, Neville Knights and Gill Woodhouse represented the club in the Fenland 10 mile race held on Sunday, October 26 with 294 finishers.

Neville finished in 1-04:47, sixth in his age group and Gill in 1-25:47, third in her age group.

Sunday saw the second of the series of six cross country races held at Shouldham Warren organised by Ryston Runners.

Despite only having a relatively small turnout of 10, the quality of the results of the Dereham Runners was brilliant with two firsts and two third age group places from Sean Atterwill, Gill Woodhouse, Grace Bird and Clem Vogler.

Under 13 Boys 3k: William Moore 15:25. Under 15 Girls 3k: Grace Bird 12:26. Under 17 Boys 4.5k: Sean Atterwill 15:59. Vet Men 40 9k: Andy Norton 41:49. Vet Men 45 9k: Neville Knights 34:42. Vet Men 55 9k: John Richardson 43:45. Vet Men 60 9k: Clem Vogler 37:59, Ernie Bradshaw 38:53. Vet Ladies 9k: Hazel Cason 54:35. Vet Ladies 9k: Gill Woodhouse 44:14.
